 What is Miami Ballroom?

Miami Ballroom is the Latin and Ballroom Dance Club at the University of Miami!  We offer beginner and

 intermediate social dance lessons for students, faculty and staff, alumni, and members of the community;

train and compete as a team; and have parties and other exciting events throughout the  year!  Each

month we learn new dances, as well as dance etiquette, method, and history.  We also offer workshops in

dances not covered in the regular curriculum (like Paso Doble, Argentine Tango, Hip Hop, Modern, and

 more!).

 When are lessons?

We meet every Thursday from 6-8p.  Latin dance (Cha Cha, Salsa, Rumba, Jive, Samba) is from 6-7p and

Ballroom dance (Tango, Slow Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep) is from 7-8pm.  Lessons take place during the

academic year, which is mid-January through April and mid-August through November.  For specific

 dates, check the Calendar.

 Where are lesson?

Lessons are in the Flamingo Ballrooms of the Whitten University Center on UM's main campus in Coral

Gables.  For directions to the Whitten University Center and a map of the area visit the Directions page.

 Where should I park?

There are several parking options near the Whitten University Center for visitors.  Visit the Directions page

 for more information.

 Join our team!

How do I join the competition team?

You must be a full-time student and dues-paying member of Miami Ballroom in order to compete with us.

We hold tryouts at the end of every semester and are always on the lookout for experienced dancers.
